Can I reward certain customers based on conditions?

Yes, you can! 

On our  Small Business plan and above, you have the option to set up earning conditions that must be met in order for your customers to earn points in your Points Program. 

For example, you can set up a condition where you can exclude any customer that has a "Wholesale" tag from earning points for a specific action.

When you create a new earning action, you will see an Earning Conditions field.

This field is where you can add a customer condition and/or an activity condition. You have the option to create multiple conditions if you wish. The possibilities are endless! 

"I have created my conditions. How does the system award my customers with points?"

Example 1 - If you have multiple conditions defined in a single rule, all of the conditions must match the customer and/or their activity, for the system to award them the points. In the example below, the customer will need to be in the "Bronze" VIP tier and they also need to have a "wholesale" tag, for them to get points for this action.

Example 2 - If you have an activity condition and a customer condition, the customer will need to match both conditions for the system to award them the points. If they only match one of the conditions, they will not get the points. In the example below, the customer's order will need to be in CAD currency and the customer will also need to have a wholesale tag, for them to get points for this action.

Example 3 - If you have an earning condition with multiple values, only one of these values must match for the customer to get the points. In the example below, the customer will need to have a tag of either "wholesale" or "ambassador" for them to get the points for this action.

Example 4 - If you have created two or more of the same condition (for example, more than one customer tags condition), and have multiple values within each condition, your customer will need to match at least one of the values in the first condition and also match at least one of the values of the second condition. In the example below, the customer will need to have a customer tag of either "premium", "points-earners", or "special-club", and also needs to have a custom tag of "active", for them to get points.

Can I add more than one earning condition?

Yes, you can add as many conditions as you would like. See the above examples on how the points are awarded.

Are tags case sensitive in Smile.io?

Yes. The customer and activity tag feature is case sensitive. Make sure that the tags in your store admin and the tags in your Smile.io admin are spelled exactly the same. If you have "Wholesale" as a tag in your store admin, and then you enter "wholesale" in the Smile.io admin, the system will not match the condition.
