Are points deducted when an order is canceled or refunded?

Yes. When an order is canceled or refunded, your customer's points for the order will also be deducted. 

Note: We are not able to do partial deductions of points. For example, if a customer is only returning 1 item in their order of 3 items, you can either automatically cancel all of the points or none of the points for this order. 

To set up your points refund, follow the steps below:

  1. In your Smile.io admin, click on 'Settings'.


  2. Scroll down to find the Order Statuses category. 

  3. Within the Order Status category, you will see a field that says 'Cancel Rewards When Financial Status is One Of'. By default, you will see a 'Refunded' tag already added for your convenience. However, you are free to add other available tags.
